Screenplay #2, update

I made some good progress on my outline today, and I’m probably about half to two-thirds of the way through. Then the real fun begins! Did I mention that I’m tackling a horror film this time? Probably not. It’s going to be fun to write because I really enjoy the horror genre a lot.

Much to my surprise, I received my Nicholl Fellowships letter today. It states whether or not I advance to the quarterfinals. Letters stating whether contest participants advance to the semifinals or not went out on Monday, July 28. With me living up in the wilds of Canada, that means I’ll be getting that letter sometime in the next three weeks or so. Keeping finger crossed!

Scriptapalooza 2008 Quarterfinalist

I received some unexpected cool news today. My screenplay “David’s Summer” was judged a quarter-finalist in the 2008 Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Contest. The contest recieved 4300 entries and there were 395 quarter-finalists, making my screenplay part of the top 9% submitted. The Dark Knight

Technically and dramatically excellent. The fantastic visuals and gadgets compliment a complex but well balanced story, portraying characters we really end up caring a lot for. It is tragic that Heath Ledger is no longer with us, because his performance as The Joker is Oscar worthy. Definitely a must see.
