Wendy and Lucy

[2.5/5 stars] This film offers a brief glimpse into what it’s like to be homeless, and to slowly lose everything that means anything to you, including your only true friend. A dog by your side can be your only link to normalcy. I never really got why homeless people have dogs, and now I get it. However, the film is slow and meandering, and the main reason most people will switch channels is we’re not given any reason to be sympathetic. Why is she homeless? Sure, losing your dog can be traumatic, but we need more than that. Let us invest in the main character before her situation takes a turn for the worst.
