Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant

I wanted to like this film, but I just couldn’t. The film just can’t find its legs or proper mood. Is it a comedy? Horror? Drama? You just can’t tell. The film felt uneven, with jarring edits. John C. Reilly is miscast. I just could not take him in this role seriously.

I believed the friendship between Harrelson and Dennings, but her sudden change of heart at the end of the film [...]
