GasLand
This is what grassroots film making is all about. Josh Fox didn’t know what he was getting himself into when he started to document his findings. The end result is undeniably important. As he travelled across the United States, he encountered more and more people affected by natural gas fracturing. A story emerged, one of jaw-dropping horror, bearing examples of unethical and corrupt treatment of innocent people by the hands of others, all in the name of greed. He documented unaccountability, denial of health hazards and unsafe practices, all the way up the corporate chain to the executive branch of government. It felt like watching a runaway train, an unstoppable force taking lives as it rolls to an inevitable end. It is important to see what is happening to our environment and to fight to stop it.
