You Again

I like Kristen Bell. She’s talented, looks great and has great comedic timing. Much of the cast does as well. However the script they were given was just weak and rife with cliche. First of all, you know going in that it’s going to be a happy ending. That’s no spoiler. How about something different for a change? I kept wanting Bell’s character to rise above the pettiness in this story, but it’s just a lot of mean-spirited people doing mean-spirited things and wrapping it all up at the end, resolving everything in a pretty bow. The bright spot is Bunny, played by Betty White. Even though you expect shenanigans from Betty White, every scene she had, she owned. I wish there was more of her. The ending was just insane, implausibly dumb.
