The characters are all played with confidence, especially Spacey, but I just could not feel any sympathy for these thieves. There’s a powerful scene at Abramoff’s Senate hearing, but it’s a fantasy, and that’s the only reason it’s compelling. It is a good document of the unscrupulous way Washington works, where the lobbyists are the ones with all the power, and the money ensures their success.
