Bad Teacher

I’m looking for something positive to say, and it’s a little difficult. For the most part this film is pretty average. The main character is so unlikeable that it’s hard to want to see her change, or even care if she does. But you know it’s going to happen and she’ll get a guy and everything will be happy skippy blah blah blah. There are a few funny moments peppered throughout, but not nearly enough. I was expecting a lot more from Jake Kasdan, but direction can only take a mediocre script so far. Timberlake is underutilized and can do better. Everyone floats through the story. The most interesting character for me was Ms. Squirrel played by Lucy Punch. Her quirks are always good for a laugh. But even she can’t raise this film up over the mountain of cliches and distasteful jokes.
